Sims was chosen by Cincinnati, which gambled even more in the fifth when it took defensive tackle Jason Shirley. He missed most of his final season at Fresno State while getting arrested and serving three team suspensions
The Stillers take a RB and WR. Hmmm...first year that I recall that we actually took the best athlete available. I just hope there are some big uglies left tomorrow for the Black and Gold.
Anything up on the draft? This is the quietest year I can remember for hype and rumors. I see the Fish are talking contract with Long, but whether that's for real or a Purcell smokescreen is yet to be seen. Even my Stillers are all over the board with the guys they're bringing in. Ray, are you going to the draft again this year, or does another armchair qb tradition bite the dust? |

A new deal must be in place by March 2009 to avoid a 2010 season without a salary cap. However, the NFL says that even without a new agreement there will be no interruption of play for at least the next three seasons.
NFL owners have been concerned that the current contract leans too far toward the players, who now get 60 percent of total team revenues. Owners also say profits have declined because of economic conditions. |
